Our Role

The National Aquaculture Development Authority of Sri Lanka was formed under Act No. 53 of 1998. This decision had been taken in order to give NAQDA some degree of autonomy in carrying out its functions, with the view to generate its own funds for self-sustenance


Our Vision

To be an apex body in the region, responsible for sustainable development and management of aquaculture and inland fisheries to ensure food security in order to improve the quality of life of the people.

Our Mission

To contribute to the improvement of the socio-economic conditions of rural societies and alleviation of poverty by facilitating the supply and availability of Freshwater and Brackish water fish through sustainable management of the aquatic resource and encouraging the development of small, medium and large scale aquatic enterprises.
